Avis Lorraine (Carl) Cone was born May 24, 1927 at home in Osceola, Missouri to Jake and Ethel (O'Banion) Carl.  She passed away October 27, 2019 in Clinton, Missouri.

She was the next to oldest of eight siblings and she attended school at Roscoe and Chalk Level through the 12th grade.  She married Donald Edward Cone on June 15, 1946.  This union was blessed with 3 children, Larry D. Cone of Osceola, Missouri, Carol K. Sanders of Clinton, Missouri and Mark E. Cone of Osceola, Missouri.

Avis enjoyed painting pictures and murals.  She worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Johnson and also at a shirt and shoe factory and Rival Manufacturing.  At the age of 26, she was afflicted with Rheumatoid Arthritis, keeping her at home.  She spent her last few years in the nursing home where she passed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Ethel Carl; husband, Donald Cone; 3 brothers, Johnny, Jack and Joe and 2 sisters Violet and Peggy.

Avis is survived by her sons Larry Cone and his wife Thelma and Mark Cone; daughter, Carol Sanders; sisters, Bonnie and Mary Jane; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
