Obituary

Marjorie "Jo" was born January 11, 1938, to Harry and Beulah Greathouse in the Osceola, MO area. She passed away January 21, 2025, in Springfield, MO at Cox South Hospital.

Jo got married and had a daughter Linda. After a while the two parted ways where she was able to marry the love of her life Blane Gray. To this union, 3 children were born. Buddy, Mark, and Teresa.

Marjorie "Jo" loved to cook and because of that, she owned the Chuckwagon Café in Taberville for many years. Many of you have visited a time of two and know firsthand the love that went into each meal prepared by her. She later went to work at Dunbrooke in El Dorado Springs and worked there for several years until going to work at Community Springs Healthcare Facility where she retired from the laundry department.

Her pride and joy were her grandkids. She spent every minute she could with them teaching them how to cook, quilt, and embroidery. If you were to ask her grandkids about their favorite memory, it would be the Sunday family dinners she would prepare, and all would enjoy. The holidays were spent gathered in the living room where you could hear the laughter for miles away.

To know her, was to love her in which her loved shined through her beautiful smile, huge heart, and gentle soul.
Jo was loved by all who knew her. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was a woman who gave all and made sure no one went without.

She was preceded in death by her mother Beulah Greathouse and Father Harry Greathouse; husband Blane; son Buddy Blane; brothers, Bud and Elmer Lee; sisters, Kathy, Bernice, Gerry, Jean and Evelyn; daughter in law, Paula and granddaughter Laura.

Marjorie is survived by her son Mark; daughters Linda (Clayton) and Terrie. Grandchildren Sarah Gray, Douglas, Jennifer, and Heather Sheets; Courtney Barbour; great grandchildren; Gabby, Dalton, Blane, Logan, Jaeci, Cody, Gracie, Everleigh, and Arrow along with many friends.
