Norman Lewis Hayslett, 87, passed away on September 10, 2026, at his home in Roscoe, Missouri.
He was born on December 10, 1938, to Lewis and Rose (Custer) Hayslett, in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
Norman was an outdoors man, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He played guitar, and was a skilled artist in wood carving and painting. He also became a private pilot in 1964.
He joined the military in July of 1958, and served for two years in the United States Army, until he was honorably discharged in July of 1960.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Rose; brother-in-law, Mike; wife, Shirley; stepson, John Stone.
He is survived by his two daughters, Carla Putney, and Rhonda Miner; son, Jeff Hayslett; stepson, Randy Stone; ex-wife, Gloria Hayslett; sister, Bonnie Armstrong; grandchildren, Leia (Marc) Guerin, Nikki (Nathan) Olsen, Andrew Hayslett, Rebecca (Louis) Bryan, Josh Stone, Delia Taylor, Caleb Stone; great grandchildren, Tyler, Joseph, Jadyn, Kylee, Max, Sylvia, Braylon, Asher; great-great grandchildren, Jack and Arizona.
Norman was never without a smile, and a story to tell. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
